2nd gen 4runner Woes!!!
« on: September 27, 2017, 07:49:43 PM »
Hola fellas.  I have been systematically assessing my 3vze since I had the drivers side head replaced because of a burnt valve, most likely because of the EGR not functioning and same side exhaust manifold gaskets being shit.

So, I have fixed my EGR system and replaced my Y pipe exhaust gaskets.  Realizing things weren't correct with a strange vibration at about 1500 rpms, I inspected my system and realized that on the passenger side Head I have 65 psi in the #5 Cylinder.

My question is, do you think this is another burnt valve issue?  I haven't done a leak down test just yet, but getting an idea if I need to pull the heads.  It should be also mentioned that when I had driven it in the last month on hotter days and longer trips the temp gauge would run uncomfortably hot, requiring me to turn on the heater to keep my sanity at bay.

Any insight would be helpful.  Thanks!!!
